Katherine (fiddle/caller), Robert (guitar) and Robin (drums) have been playing together for the past two years. However, between them they have a wealth of experience playing all over the world to a variety of people, from regular ceilidh dancers to complete beginners.

With their musicianship, style and experience you will be guaranteed a fantastic night!

Information about the band members:

Katherine studied classical violin and piano at the City of Edinburgh Music School. She was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and went on to study violin at the Royal College of Music on an ASH Music Scholarship. She has an ABRSM Diploma on piano and on violin has performed at many of the major concert halls in Britain including the Royal Albert Hall at the BBC Proms and at the Glastonbury Festival. She initially started playing folk music at just 8 years old and went on to study with Mairi Campbell. She has played in many successful ceilidh bands, touring to Saint Gervais, Nigeria and Paris. She has also played fiddle in many venues across Britain, including performing at Edinburgh Castle for President Putin, and at the Queen’s Hall at a memorial concert for Martyn Bennett, having played on his album, ‘Mackay’s Memoirs’.

Robert began learning the violin at the age of 7 but quickly turned his attentions towards the piano and the guitar. Robert has recently completed a Bachelors degree in classical music from Edinburgh Napier University. Robert has played traditional music for many years hosting regular sessions at Sandy Bell’s. He has worked with many different function and ceilidh bands all over Scotland for various events, ranging from Hogmanay at Gleneagles Hotel to an intimate reception of 8 guests at Cameron house, Loch Lomond. He has also performed in Ireland, Germany and previously was part of the resident band at the Gulf Hotel in Bahrain.

Robin has been playing in ceilidh bands since the age of ten with his mother in “The Caiystane Ceilidh Band” and “The Southsiders”. At school he joined the Edinburgh Academy Pipe Band, competing in the World Drumming Championships and touring with the band across Scotland and Canada. Since leaving school, he has studied piano and music technology in London and played with numerous bands performing around the UK at venues and festivals, including T in the Park.
